anti-Human CD235a monoclonal antibody specifically binds human glycophorin A (GPA), a major sialoglycoprotein of the human erythrocyte membrane. GPA is the carrier of blood group M and N specificities. The related protein, glycophorin B accounts for S and U specificities. GPA also binds influenza virus
